The Only Pet I Ever Had

February1

I once had a pet that sadly didn’t last very long. Her apple red skin shimmered in the water. No one could pick her out in a crows since she was as puny as a key chain.

Her gills would help her breathe through the voluminous water that surrounded her. She wouldn’t do much, but for some reason I was fascinated to watch her.

She was a fish. A fish that died shortly after I got her. I was only 5 at the time and didn’t know about the tragic accident that caused her to die. I only remembered seeing my beautiful fish- floating at the top of her bowl- not moving at all.

A Scary Scene

January18

The clouds were getting darker by the minute. Dusk overhung the colossal sky. The last buts of light died away by the presence of roaring thunder. Lightning arrived soon after with eye damaging bright flashes. It was cold and humid.
The evening didn’t feel normal. In fact it felt far from normal. Shadows appeared in front, behind, and to the sides of me like creepy stalkers.
Nothing was safe.

Student Health

December8

I think rest is very important. As you get older the less sleep you get is what I think is happening. At least that’s happening to me. Many factors affect this such as homework, games, electronics etc.  if you don’t sleep enough your mind won’t work during the day. I mean it will work, but not at its best. Many suggestions and thoughts have been passes around to help kids get more sleep, but not have taken action. For example: less homework, less school hours and going to sleep earlier. Take this into thought. It will only help you.

My Room

November15

My favorite room in my house is my own. A squared cube drenched in pink. A bed placed in the middle with pink comforter.

My room gives me the peace to do my work and sort out my thoughts. It’s the only place in the whole house where I own the territory.

I spend most of my free time there in the cool air and somewhat colorful room. I say somewhat, because my room is pretty much pink and pink is not even close to my favorite color.

Rain

November7

The clouds darkened and thunder began to roar. It felt like the whole house and its surroundings were becoming gray and scary.

Then out of no where a single water droplet from the sky fell and landed on our deck outside, but then in time at all more fell and it wouldn’t stop. It was like darts of water coming down to you.

As the rain kept pouring more and more, the sound of the rain began to sound like uncooked popcorn kernels pelting to the ground. The thunder would not keep quiet and soon lightning began to arrive.

Without even thinking, out of no where bright flashes would appear outside your window. The lightning literally lit up the whole sky when dark came.

Halloween Porch

October25

To my right there was a colossal spider web with all different types of spiders on it. They had a dark shades of color and were all looking in one direction.
To my left there was actually nothing except for an old rusty rocking chair that kept rocking even thought nothing was on it. It looked as if the wind from the foggy night was swiftly moving it back and forth.
The door standing tall in front of me had a mysterious sign on it which stated “Beware of Haunted House”. Although it didn’t look like a haunted house I was completely convinced.

The Golden Beach

September27

On the beautiful beach
The hot sun beams down against my face
Soft sand between my toes
Waves crashing into the surf
Beach balls flying through the air
The horizon far beyond the shore
Sand castles along the golden beach
The ocean as blue as the sky

My Favorite Sport

September9

My favorite sport is basketball! I’ve been playing basketball since I was 8. At first I wasn’t really good at it, but as the years went by I’ve been getting better.

Before I started playing basketball I had never been good at any sport that I did. You could say I wasn’t very athletic, but now I am. I prefer team sports over individual sports, because I get to play with a variety of people. When your by yourself it’s not as fun.

This year I hope to make the West Ridge basketball team and have fun. The other sport I play besides basketball is tennis. That’s the other sport that I have improved in and became better at. I play both sports, but I prefer basketball. I am not as dedicated to it as others are, but I do like it a lot.
